Weaving

Our 4th graders are creeping up on the end of our weaving project for this year.  They have been working diligently on their projects and problem solving when they find rows that match.  We have several scarves for bears, coasters, and toy rugs being made!

Tessellations

Our 5th graders have been looking at different kinds of Optical Illusions this year, and we're finishing off with M.C. Escher's Tessellations!  Students are also being guinea pigs for our new kind of pastels.  We aren't afraid to get a little dirty in the name of art!

Color, Color, Color!

Our 2nd graders studied the art of Ted Harrison.  We also introduced a NEW kind of media: Liquid Watercolor!  The kiddos seemed to think it was awesome, and after seeing the finished project...I totally agree!  I even got some pointers from a friend about how to make the set-up time even easier! (psst - she suggested that I let the paint sit out to dry and just add more water when another class is going to use them)
Take a look at some of the kiddos while they work!

Here are some pictures of the art on display in the Library!
