Crayon Etching

Each year my third grade students experiment with lines by making crayon etchings!  I finally got it right this year!  The trick is to cover BRIGHT crayon colors with thick black tempra paint instead of the crayons or oil pastels we tried in previous years.  We had some spectacular results!
